New Products at Ulta💄

Here as we try to keep you informed, are some of the new products that are available at Ulta. We’ll look over the products that most of us hasn’t tried yet, but there are some reviews available for us to check out:

Okay, okay let’s take it with an open mind……we know it’s Becca. But this is a collector’s edition of their new glow body stick. While there no reviews for this product yet, do you just love the packaging? Now just remember, while they do reference this as a glow stick, they mean it because the stick is oil-based. If you have an issue with oil or you are known to have oil clog up your pores, you may want to stay away from this product.

Now I will say that First Aid Beauty and quickly become one of my favorites when it comes to cleaning and rehydrating my skin. Now there have released this conditioning eye makeup remover that I personally cannot wait to try out. I would usually use a primer base by NYX or Too Faced before applying eye shadow, so I’m excited to see how this makeup remover will work to counter those products. While there are no reviews yet, I would love to know what people think of the product, especially those of us with sensitive eyes.

Okay, don’t blame me but when I saw this product I wasn’t too thrilled to try it. I’ve used their peel-off masks previously and will say that I favored one out of all of them, which was a little disappointing. If you don’t know I Dew Care is a Korean-based beauty product that has become very popular in the United States, especially since being introduced to the shelves at your local Ulta store. This particular product is called a makeup remover balm, which sounded a bit counterproductive if I am applying a balm to take off my makeup. As I looked further into the product description, I found out that this balm paste transforms into an oil, which make removing the makeup easier. While I does have blueberry extract and jojoba oil in the product, I’m wondering if the product needs to be massaged on the face and are you to simple wipe off with a cotton pad and then wash the face? We will see when the reviews come in!

Can we be honest here? When is the last time you’ve seen a BH Cosmetics product get rave reviews? It seems the cosmetics company has put out products that have not sold well in the recent years, or have lacked to get new customers. I believe this Stellar Collision eyeshadow and highlighter palette is an opportunity for BH to get back on top and cater to the ever-changing beauty community. With 17 shades, BH says that they can be used as eyeshadows or as toppers or highlighters. The site doesn’t specify how to use it as a topper compared to using as a shadow, but I’m going to take a healthy guess and assume that you’ll want to use a brush to make it an eyeshadow and do a topper with your finger or a small sponge applicator 🤷🏽‍♀️

What’s new at Ulta✨

Often times, I get so wrapped up in all of the confusion on what makeup company is stealing another makeup company’s ideas that I decided that we are gonna try our best to just stick to the art and the makeup itself. Here are some of the new items that raised our eyebrows in the Ulta store:

 

I can say with confidence that these makeup companies are milking the shimmer craze right now. MAC is on the loose with their new ‘Skinfinish’ liquid-powder highlighter, available in Snowflushed and Oh Darling. With a 4.8 out of 5 stars, I was curious to know exactly what would give a single-pan highlighter such a high rating. Here is what some of the reviewers said about this product:

 

 

Oh well, isn’t this interesting! While some reviewers are saying that this product is easy to apply and lightweight, other are having difficulties with the application. Also 75% of the reviewers said that they would definitely refer this product to their friends. With this product containing glitter, it can be an automatic deal-breaker for some of us. Let’s see what else is out there:

 

Morphe seems to always have a foot in the race of the top new age makeup brands. Here is the new ‘8S Stellar Impact’ highlighter palette with eight stunning colors to grace our presence. From left to right we have Ultraviolet – Galactic – Comet – Meteor – Aurora – Trace – Big Bang – Mirage. While not extensively bright when looking at the palette, a simple photo from online can be a bit different. Let’s see what our peers have to say about the palette:

 

 

So far, there are only eight reviews but all have given this palette at least three stars. While no pros or cons have been documented yet, some comments from the reviewers say this product is comparable to major makeup brands, the colors are beautiful, and creamy to the touch. On the other hand, some other comments was that the product is overpriced and chunky when the product is applied. While they say the palette is pretty, no word on the pigment when the product is applied. Let’s see what’s next:

 

 

Okay, we are all friends here right? Please tell me why the hell is this four-palette bronzer $38.00?????? Not to mention it has excluded most, if not all coupons. If you don’t know, Beauty Bakerie is an independent beauty brand that is quickly growing in beauty community. While I support inde brands, some tend to be a bit out of some of our price ranges. I believe that sometimes, companies charge these prices due to process to make the product high quality. Hey, I’m not knocking Beauty Bakerie and the owner’s success. I just can’t seem to justify the price for the about of product. There are only six reviews so far:

 

 

4.5 out of 5 is a great rating, even for just six reviews so far. Some of the comments about the palette is that is blendable, highly pigmented and is better suited for tanned or darker skin. One reviewer said the product was pretty but more of a ‘ehh’ due to the glitter. This palette is also said to be great if  you want that ‘chocolate gold’ look to your makeup. And our last review for the day:

 

 

Stop kidding yourself, okay? If you are big on makeup or a beauty-guru watcher on YouTube, you probably have heard about James Charles and this is his latest collaboration with Morphe. This eyeshadow palette is simple called ‘The James Charles Palette’. This palette consists of a 39 shades over five rows, consisting of mattes, shimmers, and metallics. Guess what? $39.00 

Due to the high anticipation of this eyeshadow palette, there have been many reviews already established, especially since this product is exclusive to Ulta stores.

4.8 out of 5 stars is very well for a new palette and collaboration. The pros of this palette are reported to be highly pigmented, wide range of color, blendable, and long lasting. Others say that it the colors did not blend well for them, flakes off the eye, creases, and that the packaging seemed cheap.

✨New products at Sephora – Sept. 2018

Last week, we discussed some of the new products that were available at Ulta stores all over the country. For this one, we won’t cover the ones that have we’ve already chatted about. With Sephora considered to be a ‘high end’ makeup store, they are likely to provide us with more products that are exclusive to Sephora. Let’s see what they have so far:

 

 

Okay, okay I know what you are saying. ‘Dee, that’s not a new product’. But, my friend, I believe it is worth mentioning, based on its value. While this holiday set does have some of Too Faced’s amazing products, what caught my eye was this exclusive 24-color eyeshadow palette. So, this palette promises a combination of mattes, metallics, shimmers and a highlighter. Bronzers, mascara, the Hangover spray….$357 value for $58. Very nicely priced.

 

 

Any new Fenty highlighter is always a treat to makeup lovers. This glitter is for the body and I can’t wait to see more reviews as they come in. With Currently 118 reviews, this product is getting 4.5 out of 5. Amazing!

 

 

Natasha Denona has done it again with this new, all matte eyeshadow palette. While a lot of palettes provide a combination of mattes and shimmers, this one is for the expert blender. This eyeshadow palette promises zero-fallout in grey, warm, and reddish tones. 

 

 

This is Pat McGrath’s new eyeshadow palette, Mothership V in Bronze Seduction. Yes, I know you are looking at the price point and well, it is Pat McGrath. She’s known to provide high-end, luxurious shadow colors. This palette is said to give you single-stroke, highlight and defining with seamless blendability.

 

 

Okay, this threw us for a loop. This is a seasonal product for those gingerbread lovers. Now, if you don’t like gingerbread….well, you just out of luck with trying this matte lipstick because its scented. Too bad.

 

Now this one looks so appealing. This highlighter palette has a wonderful play on luxurious gold bars. Available for $58, this highlighter palette comes with gold, soft pink, rose gold, and a high-shimmer bronze.

 

 

 

Who are they: Flower Beauty

    Known as the ‘brainchild’ of famed actress and creator Drew Barrymore, Flower Beauty as been on the scene for some time now. While spreading her message of empowerment of women through her brand, Drew Barrymore ensures that her customers know that her products are also cruelty-free.

  Flower Beauty is known for some legitimate dupes to other high-end luxury makeup brands, which bring me to the other good thing about this brand…..the price range. Most makeup products range between $8 to $16.99, including their foundation, which is $13.99 on Ulta.com. So, let’s get into the products:

It seems that the foundation has mixed reviews, but let’s be honest, its pretty difficult to get high rankings when it comes to makeup. With so many people and so many different skin types, having these types of ratings among the masses is a good thing and makes Flower Beauty worth trying. Personally, I can’t wait to get into my local Ulta store and try their chubby highlighters. It looks like something I can use, throw in my purse and it not get lost in the clutter 😃

 

 

Who are they: Makeup Revolution London

    An established but less-referenced makeup brand on the market is Makeup Revolution London. Established in Britain over 28 years ago, this brand is a constant in your local Ulta stores. Oddly, other than being in the Ulta store, the only place that the average person would have access to these products is online.  So what are they known for?

    Sorry but I couldn’t put it any more tame than that. I gotta say that when it comes to luxury products, Makeup Revolution provides some amazing dupes. One of its famous:

   Now this gorgeous little bottle of pixie dust comes in the shades Ghost, Lace, Banana, and Chestnut. Banana is the shade that is the one that’s more widely used in the makeup community. Just when your makeup prayers seemed to go unanswered.

     While seemingly hard to find other then at Ulta and Amazon, it seems Makeup Revolution seems to come out with various makeup dupes that make you understand that they are not a simple duping company. Makeup Revolution provides quality, distinctive palettes, foundation shades, and amazing highlighters.

Holographic and glitter makeup favs UNDER $15 🔥🔥🔥

    While I have spent my share hours of my little life in front of a mirror, attempting to do my makeup before a date, important events, or just a day to cover blemishes, one trend that has gotten the masses out to the makeup aisles…..holographic and glitter makeup. Yes, dear reader, I am aware that your favorite YouTube beauty gurus have attempted to kill the holographic/glitter craze of 2017 but the reality is….it just takes some of us normal people time to come around to what the latest trend is. Sometimes the latest trends don’t fit into our lifestyle in which we have transitional time in which we come around to trying new makeup ideas. Other times, new makeup trends cost us not only our time, but extra money. While this product is one of those ‘I don’t know’ things until you read all the good reviews or your friends start talking about it, you’ll quickly regret not getting it sooner.  Priced at a reasonable $9.99, L’Oreal’s Infalliable Holographic Highligher stick is highly sought after in the shades Cosmic Pink, Astro Blue, and Galaxy Gold. While still exclusive, don’t get mad at me when you visit your local ULTA store and its likely to be sold out. This is a highly-pigmented, multi-use highlighter that fits wonderfully into your purse, bag, in the armrest of your car….you get what I’m saying girlie? This product can be applied to the brow bone as a highlight, over a matte eyeshadow, cheekbones, cupid’s bow…need I say more? 

Now since L’Oreal has brought the makeup community a definite holographic series winner AND bought another cosmetic corporation for about $1.2 billion…maybe we can finally get those iT Cosmetics foundation shades expanded a little?🤨🤨😁

 

Wet-n-Wild MegaGlo Liquid Highlighter

 

 

 

 

 

Now before you start, let’s be honest here…Wet-n-Wild has come a long way in the makeup community. While I have been a bit apprehensive about liquid highlighters, this one was something I couldn’t pass up. While available in you local drugstore, this highlighter can be bought just about anywhere. Why is it so amazing? Because its BLINDING!!!! Yes, highlighter overload if you don’t watch it, so a little goes a long way, which is a good thing. While priced at $4.68 on Walmart.com, this highlighter is a great way to start playing with the different way in how this can bring some ‘pop’ to your makeup routine.

When we talk about low-cost highlighter and fancy glitter lipgloss, one of the names that usually don’t come to mind is Urban Decay.
