Beauty oils for your skin

Everyone wants their skin to look flawless, and there some more than others that are willing to try anything to get it. Oftentimes, we tend to search among the products in our stores when Mother Nature has provided the essentials at our fingertips. Here are some of the beneficial oils for your skin’s health:

COCONUT OIL

While in recent studies, coconut oil is believed to introduce bad LDL cholesterol levels and slightly increasing the chances of heart disease (Willet, W,. MD, Harvard Health Publishing 2011), there are benefits. Coconut oil is good for the skin, leaving a smooth, radiant finish and more subtle feel after a short time of use. Many women have admitted to using coconut oil as a nightly moisturizer instead of expensive brand products.

ROSEHIP

Rosehips

Rosehip oil is widely known for long-term treatment of minor discolorations from acne, age spots and wrinkles. It is high in antioxidants and vitamin A and those wonderful fats acids that assist in your skin’s texture and even tone.

JOJOBA

Can’t manage to get all of your makeup off and ran out of your favorite makeup remover? Jojoba oil will work just fine. While known as an anti-imflammatory, jojoba oil can also be used at the first signs for acne to assist in making them go away faster. Yes, I know it is an ‘oil’ technically, but jojoba is also known to be work well on skin that is prone to be quite oily.

HEMP SEED

OLIVE OIL

You know so years so, I heard a rumor that one of the ways in which Whitney Houston kept her youthful appearance and radiant skin was by taking baths that included olive oil. According to Dr. Mercola’s website, here are some of the many benefits to olive oil:

  • Moisturizing skin
  • Improving skin elasticity and its regenerative properties
  • Providing antioxidants and good fats to fight free radicals and facilitate skin healing
  • Reducing under-eye wrinkles
  • Massaging dry, flakey scalp or dandruff
  • Massaging frizzy hair or split ends (lightly warmed olive oil)

ALMOND OIL

Deep cleaning is one of many things that almond oil is used for in its organic form.  Moisturizing the skin, relieving the irritation of eczema and psoriasis, treating rashes and reduces wrinkles are some of many of almond oil.

LAVENDER

Lavender

While not widely known, lavender is actually an anti-inflammatory, which means it can be used to treat irritated or itchy skin if no other treatment is readily available. As widely used for aromatherapy, lavender oil can also be used to treat acne, and scars from acne, and eczema, This oil is also known to treat hair loss and even promote hair growth.

TEA TREE OIL

Extracted from the Melaleuca Alternifolia tree, tea tree is a known solvent that absorbs oil, assists to treat and prevent acne. Tea tree has been credited to smooth the skin and provide that fresh, open-pore feeling after use. A downside to using tea tree is the odor, if  you are sensitive to smell. Another issue is for people with somewhat oily skin. Because tea tree IS an oil, it may not be in your best interest to use on a daily basis. All in all, tea tree oil gives your skin that ‘deep clean’ feeling.
