Having a little fun with ASMR…. and failed ✨
So one of my Instagram followers suggested that I attempt to do an unboxing via ASMR (Autonomous Sensory Meridian Response). Without getting too technical, this is the process of, when used on video, used to ‘massage’ your brain. So your get this mental massage through a series of ‘triggers’ like nail-tapping, the sound of brushing hair, whispering, etc. Well, trying to do it was so FUNNY for me!!!! Despite the fact that I failed at it miserably, I think I’ll do it again in the future…only because it was fun and a loyal subscriber requested it. Enjoy watching me being silly 😎

Berny Martin : Founder of Midwest Fashion Week
Throughout my travels in an unbiased quest to bring to my audience fashion and the unique designers behind them, my recent travels took me into the city of Chicago, affectionately known as the ‘Heart of America’. My destination in the Windy City? Midwest Fashion Week of course, which was founded and guided by Mr. Berny Martin.
As a fan of Mr. Martin’s work, I have followed Midwest Fashion Week over the years as they have acquired numerous mentions in notable magazines such as IndyStar.com (USA Today), ELLE Men, and Ok! Magazine. Midwest Fashion Week not only brings forth talent and visions via the runway, but also raises money for charities and non-profit organizations.
Mr. Martin is no ordinary Haitian-born gentleman with just ‘good taste’, but an international fashion revolutionary in his own right. Notably a graduate of Purdue University, Berny Martin is also the Founder and CEO of Catou Wear, which serves on leaps and bounds beyond simply ‘made’ fashion designs.
Martin’s Catou Wear brings on a personalization of tailoring, sophistication, elegance and flare. His love and passion for customizing designs to compliment the client’s personality proves true, even in his own personal attire. A gentleman indeed and a lover of the craft, Berny Martin has been bringing stunning artistry to the runway all over the world. I personally came into contact with Catou Wear via Couture Fashion Week in 2015, Times Square, New York.
As I bring to you the designers of MidWest Fashion Week, please know that hard work, dedication and love of the art assisted Mr. Berny Martin and his team in making this magic come to life.
New Orleans Fashion Week 2018 – NOLA Couture
Prior to going to my first Fashion Week event in New Orleans, I had a small hint of anxiety. Its almost like going to a new school on the other side of town. The surroundings are foreign, you find yourself a bit lost and unsure. But then……you see something that’s familiar….like the kid from your old school that transferred just like you did. Now the moment is erased of unease and has been replaced with a sense of propinquity.
That’s how I felt, walking into Fashion Week alone, not knowing anyone and trying to find my footing. As I watched the runway show and took photos, that sense of ease came when I heard the hostess announcing NOLA Couture. It was a company I knew of, pulling me into the moment, not only as a lonely, wondering blogger, but as a spectator, watching a place that I am familiar with be apart of the show. Speaking of the show, here’s my video of NOLA Couture and their runway collection for New Orleans Fashion Week 2018!

New Orleans Fashion Week – Stevie Boi
In my travels throughout my life, I’ve noticed that a person’s face, a song, a location, an aroma…..things like this can remind you of something. Often, we can remember things vividly with such things to aid us. When Beyonce came on the scene with the song ‘Diva’ and wore those iconic shades at the beginning of the video, I was in a trance. Never did I imagine that I would one day get to meet the mastermind behind that piece of work. Those shades were made by no other than the celebrity designer, Stevie Boi (StevieBoi.com).
